Huskies notch key victory over UCLA

LOS ANGELES - Another win, another step closer for Washington to make its first NCAA tournament appearance since 1999.
Will Conroy scored 18 of his 20 points in the second half when Washington rallied to beat UCLA 91-83 in the first round of the Pac-10 tournament Thursday night.
The second-seeded Huskies (18-10) have won 13 of their last 15 games, including an upset of then-No. 1 Stanford last Saturday that ended the Cardinal's 26-game winning streak. But some believed they needed to beat UCLA to merit consideration by the NCAA tournament committee.
