Honda breaks power pole during apparent street race

A Honda car, which police said was racing with another vehicle on East Fourth Plain Boulevard, crashed into a power pole Thursday evening, severing the pole and forcing officials to block the busy street during repairs.
The driver of the Honda Accord, 24-year-old David Z. Lopez of Vancouver, escaped injury, as did his passenger, Patricia Mendoza-Gonzaga, 22, of Vancouver. Both wore seat belts, said Vancouver police Officer Stephen Capellas.
Lopez was ticketed on suspicion of reckless driving and having no insurance.
