KUALA LUMPUR, Thurs. - The Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange Composite Index (KLCI) rose 1.3 per cent to breach the 900-point level today as investors bet on a comprehensive victory for the Barisan Nasional in Sunday's general election.

The benchmark KLCI ended 11.33 points higher at 901.47, its highest level since June 2, 2000, buoyed by the strong performance of blue chips such as Telekom Malaysia Bhd, Tenaga Nasional Bhd and Malayan Banking Bhd.
