Fed: Roquefort cheese may finally be allowed into Aust

CANBERRA, March 19 AAP - Australians are a step closer towards finally being able to
buy Roquefort cheese.
The blue cheese, made from raw sheep's milk and a mould found in certain caves around
the French town of Roquefort-sur-Soulzon, is currently banned from being imported to Australia.
Under Australia's food and quarantine laws, almost all raw milk products are banned
over fears they are not as safe as those made from heat-treated milk.
Just three raw milk cheeses, all from Switzerland, are allowed into Australia at present.
