The West Coast's oldest black newspaper has been sold to a businessman and community activist.
Danny J. Bakewell, a real estate developer and head of the service group, Los Angeles Brotherhood Crusade, has bought a controlling interest in the Los Angeles Sentinel and will become chairman and chief executive, it was announced Tuesday.
Terms of the deal for the private company were not disclosed.
