Local bourse reverses recent tumble on news of measures to stimulate trading
Thai shares jumped 3.8 per cent yesterday on optimism over a series of
measures to stimulate the flagging stock market.
The market started the day with a tumble before rebounding strongly on
across-the-board buying as investors bet on the upcoming measures. The
SET Index shot up to close at the day's peak of 671.92. Turnover was moderate
at Bt25.75 billion.
The buying spree was heaviest in big market-cap stocks. PTT Plc jumped
6.43 per cent to Bt149, Bangkok Bank (BBL) was up 4.92 per cent at Bt96,
Kasikornbank (KBANK) rose 6.19 per cent to Bt51.50 ...
