Not to Close up 8,000 Specialty Stores in China, Avon Says
BEIJING, Apr 06, 2004 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China's government will be scheduled to make a law on direct selling at the end of 2004. The move raises sweeping concerns from direct-selling companiesin China and overseas.
On March 28, 2004, sources disclosed in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province that Avon Products Inc. (Avon), a direct-selling leader in beauty care in the world, would close up more than 5,000 specialty stores and more than 2,000 specialty counters in China, once China issued the law.
