PETALING JAYA, Mon. - Malaysia today took a major step towards becoming one of the world's leading manufacturers of assault rifles and handguns.

The company behind the famous Austrian Steyr range of weapons has decided to shift its entire production line of weapons here.
Soon, the Steyr rifles used by military personnel worldwide will be produced at the SME Technology plant in Sungai Buloh.

The weapons will be manufactured by Steyr Mannlicher (M) Sdn Bhd, a joint venture company of National Aerospace and Defence Industries ...
