CNY 3.7bn Pours into Hydroelectric Power Plants in Yunnan

YUNNAN, Apr 19, 2004 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Yunnan Province, a southwestern Province of China will invest CNY 3.7 billion (USD 1 = CNY 8.2770) in the construction of hydroelectric power plants in its rural areas.

Driven by the concerns about electric power gap, Yunnan will establish hydroelectric power plants with installed capacity ofmore than 1.5 million kw in rural areas in 2004. Hydroelectric power plants with installed capacity of 250,000 kw will begin generation in Yunnan's rural areas in 2004.
