Sinn Fein, the Irish Republican Army-linked party, is undermining the reform of Northern Ireland's police force by boycotting civilian review panels, the project's Canadian overseer said Tuesday.
Police Oversight Commissioner Al Hutchinson said Sinn Fein leaders should take their seats immediately on the Northern Ireland Policing Board and 25 smaller committees, called District Policing Partnerships or DPPs, that were created under terms of a landmark 1999 plan for reshaping the terrorism-hardened force.
