SOMEHOW the only time Orang Asli healthcare issues come to the fore is when there has been a tragic loss of life.

The last time, two children from Kampung Sungai Seboi in Kuala Krau in Pahang died from an over-dose of anti-malarial medicine.
This time, it is the death of five children in Orang Asli villages near Cameron Highlands, thought to be due to a rotavirus infection (see sidebar).
