(Ka Leo O Hawaii) (U-WIRE) HONOLULU -- University of Hawaii at Manoa assistant professor of military science Major Thomas "Trey" Johnson, recently returned from serving as the chief of operations for the Coalition Military Assistance Training Team in Baghdad, Iraq.

Despite Johnson's return, CMATT's task at hand continues to be in the building of Iraqi armed forces and security forces to help prepare for the nation's turnover of power on June 30. The eventual turnover will be from the Coalition Provisional Authority to the Iraqi Governing Council, in combination with a pullout of Coalition forces by developing a New Iraqi Army to maintain stability.
