Tajik President Emomali Rakhmonov arrived on a three-day visit to Pakistan on Wednesday for talks with government leaders to strengthen economic relations, state-run media reported.

Rakhmonov was scheduled to meet later Wednesday with his Pakistani counterpart Gen. Pervez Musharraf in the capital Islamabad.

On Thursday, Rakhmonov will hold talks with Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali and other senior government officials. He will also visit the eastern city of Lahore, a commercial center in Pakistan.
