Swiss voters Sunday appeared to be rejecting a package aimed at keeping the national social security system financially healthy as people live longer and families have fewer children to pay taxes in the future, according to Swiss radio exit polls.
The package included provisions to defer women's retirement to 65 years from 64 and to raise Switzerland's value added tax from the current 7.6 percent by almost 2 percentage points.
