Fed: More consistent care can cut mortality rates, project finds

CANBERRA, May 17 AAP - More consistent care in hospitals could lower death rates for
some diseases and reduce levels of re-admittance, a major project to improve patient care
has found.
The $5.5 million Clinical Support Systems Program (CSSP) involved testing different
ways of improving the quality of care at 17 hospitals.
Commonwealth chief medical officer John Horvath released a report on the program at
the national conference of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Canberra today.
