Monaco regained second place in the French first division on Friday with a 3-1 win at Bordeaux, improving its chances of an automatic spot in the Champions League next season.

However, Paris Saint-Germain can reclaim second spot if it wins on Sunday. Lyon is all but assured of its third title in a row.

Midfielder Albert Riera struck first for Bordeaux, smashing home a cross from Pascal Feindouno in the 14th minute.

Monaco, which played earlier due to its Champions League final clash with Porto on Wednesday, finished its domestic campaign in style.

In the 28th Emmanuel Adebayor's grabbed his eighth of the season. ...
