A moderate earthquake shook southwestern Greece Monday, but there were no reports of damage or injuries, authorities said.

The undersea quake had a preliminary magnitude of 4.9 and occurred at 9:30 a.m. (0630 GMT) in the Gulf of Kyparissia, about 225 kilometers (140 miles) southwest of Athens, the Thessaloniki Seismological Institute said.
