Widows of victims who were killed here in a 1995 massacre on Wednesday asked the U.N. war crimes tribunal's top prosecutor to create a unit of volunteers to hunt down two top war crimes suspects charged in relation to the massacre.
Bosnian Serb troops in 1995 killed up to 8,000 boys and men in Srebrenica, which had been declared a "safe zone" by the United Nations. The massacre was the worst on European soil after World War II.
Carla Del Ponte visited the Srebrenica memorial center together with 50 widows and mothers of victims.
