Kelley Lake Elementary School students Tevin Najeeullah, Christopher Brown,
and Derryl Barron were the regional winners in the Fall 2003 Stock Market
Game competition coordinated by the Georgia Council on Economic Education.
They were students in the class of Donna Brockmann.
Teams of students from across the state were competing in regional
competitions. Each team had a hypothetical $100,000 to invest in stocks
listed on the major exchanges. They could buy on margin, sell short and
they paid commission fees on each transaction. The team's winning portfolio
was valued at $133,384.
More than 25,000 students participate in the Georgia Stock Market Game each
school year, ...
