Diabetes linked with colorectal cancer

CAMBRIDGE, England, Jun 07, 2004 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- Diabetics and those with a key symptom may be more likely to develop colorectal cancer than people with normal blood sugar levels, British scientists said.

Researchers found the increased risk is tied to levels of glycated hemoglobin -- glucose attached to red blood cells -- independent of diabetes, although high levels of it also are found in diabetics.
