With the Olympic Games just two months away, mainland sportswear retailer
Li Ning is planning a listing in Hong Kong to raise up to HK$600 million
to upgrade product design and marketing ahead of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
Beijing Li Ning Sports Goods will also expand its outlets from 2,354
to about 2,800 this year, 3,200 in 2005 and 3,500 in 2006, Daiwa Institute
of Research said, citing a bank that is helping to sell the firm's shares.
Li Ning, a top local brand in the mainland, will invest HK$85 million
to increase the number of retail points and invest HK$15 million to upgrade
