Fed: Contaminated sites could be worth plenty - clean-up experts

CANBERRA, June 9 AAP - Far from being places to turn your back on, some of Australia's
contaminated sites might turn out to be worth a motza, clean-up experts said today.

The experts claim old industrial sites, once thought so polluted the only solution
was to lock them up forever or else dig them up and move the hazard elsewhere, often prove
less dangerous than thought.

This realisation has come courtesy of a new approach that evaluates their toxic risk.
