Israel and Jewish organizations expressed hope that the first-ever U.N. seminar on combating anti-Semitism will mark a turning point in the world body's commitment to fight anti-Jewish hatred. But a senior U.N. official cautioned against quick results.
Israel said it will use Secretary-General Kofi Annan's call for global action on Monday to press for adoption of a U.N. resolution this fall condemning anti-Jewish acts.
