Vic: BHP Billiton accused over Colombia mine

MELBOURNE, June 30 AAP - Environmentalists protested outside the BHP Billiton Centre
today, claiming that one of its coal mines in Colombia threatened to displace an entire
community.

About 15 protesters from environmental group Friends of the Earth Australia blocked
one of the entrances of the Lonsdale Street building with a banner declaring: "BHP Billiton
violating human rights".

They also wore white rags over their mouths with the letters "BHP" painted on them.

Friends of the Earth spokeswoman Liz Turner said the company's planned expansion of
