SA: Guantanamo Bay could be closed, Hicks' lawyer says

ADELAIDE, July 1 AAP - Guantanamo Bay could be closed in the wake of legal setbacks
to the US administration, a lawyer for Australian terrorist suspect David Hicks said today.
The US was reportedly considering moving the 600 detainees held at its military base
at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to mainland America following a US Supreme Court ruling.
Hicks, of Adelaide, and Sydney father of four Mamdouh Habib have been detained at Guantanamo
Bay for more than two years.
But the Australian terror suspects and other Guantanamo Bay detainees can now contest
their detention in US courts ...
