AFL: Howard urged to become a Blue
MELBOURNE, July 3 AAP - Prime Minister John Howard probably has more pressing matters
on his mind, but he was today urged to follow some of his predecessors and become a member
of AFL side Carlton.
While Australia awaits a possible election announcement, Mr Howard was a guest at the
lunch before today's game between Carlton and Sydney at Optus Oval.
Blues president Ian Collins used the opportunity to encourage Mr Howard to follow in
the footsteps of his political idol Sir Robert Menzies.
