Kerry taps Edwards as vice president
PITTSBURGH, Jul 06, 2004 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- U.S. Sen. John Kerry announced Tuesday John Edwards will be his running mate on the Democratic Party ticket at a rally in Pittsburgh.
Edwards is a first-term U.S. senator from North Carolina. He made his fortune as a trial lawyer.
"I am pleased to announce, that with your help, the next vice president of the United States will be Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina," Kerry said in a campaign stop in Pittsburgh.
