It was not a good day to be a pitcher in the American League. Three teams scored at least seven runs Thursday _ and lost. And no American League winner had fewer than seven runs.

Toronto and Seattle combined for 18 in the Blue Jays' 10-8 victory. Chicago and Anaheim got 17, with the White Sox winning 9-8. Boston edged Oakland 8-7 in 10 innings.
