Wells' Dairy Inc. has struck an exclusive deal to make, market and distribute Weight Watchers frozen treats for calorie-conscious consumers, the two companies announced Wednesday.
The Le Mars, Iowa-based ice cream maker and Weight Watchers International Inc. said the agreement is effective Oct. 1. Officials from both companies declined to comment on financial terms of the deal.
Gary Wells, chief executive of Wells' Dairy, said his company initially will make 12 products under the Weight Watchers brand.
The deal includes reformulation of such Weight Watchers treats as the Giant Vanilla Fudge Sundae Cup and Giant ...
