The Phoenix Coyotes have made a two-year contract offer to NHL star Brett Hull.
"We have a genuine interest, we've made a serious and substantive offer, and we're awaiting his reply," Coyotes GM Mike Barnett said on Wednesday.
Barnett is Brett Hull's former agent, and Wayne Gretzky, the Coyotes managing partner, is a close friend of Hull.
Hull's agent _ and younger brother _ Bobby Hull Jr., confirmed the Coyotes are a major player in landing Hull.
