Indian-American Republicans in Maryland have lined up behind GOP candidate
Chuck Floyd, the former State Department official and retired army officer
who is challenging incumbent Representative Christopher Van Hollen Jr,
Democrat, in the state's 8th District.
The district incorporates Montgomery County and boasts of one of the
largest Indian-American populations in the country.
The consensus among political analysts is that Floyd is unlikely to unseat
Van Hollen who, in 2002, defeated eight-term Republican Connie Morella
despite President George W Bush campaigning for her.
Interestingly, no less than Kumar Barve, House Majority Leader in the
