Russia's Foreign Ministry on Saturday blamed the Georgian government for simmering tensions in Georgia's breakaway province of South Ossetia and warned a European security organization against increasing its presence in the region.

In a statement posted on its Web site, the ministry angrily dismissed Georgia's proposal to bolster the role of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in South Ossetia, calling it "clearly unfeasible."
