The blind piano player, known for his unique down-home voice, died of acute
liver disease at 11:35 a.m., June 10, at age 73, in his Beverly Hills home
surrounded by friends and family.

His health had been on a decline post hip replacement surgery in November.
Although the surgery was successful, his physicians found "other ailments."

Ray Charles Robinson was born in Albany, Georgia on September 23, 1930.
