merged all musical boundaries in a career that spanned about 60 years.
The blind piano player, known for his unique down-home voice, died of acute
liver disease at 11:35 a.m., June 10, at age 73, in his Beverly Hills home
surrounded by friends and family.
His health had been on a decline post hip replacement surgery in November.
Although the surgery was successful, his physicians found "other ailments."
Ray Charles Robinson was born in Albany, Georgia on September 23, 1930.
His parents, Bailey and Aretha, relocated to Greensville, Florida when he
