(Daily Californian) (U-WIRE) BERKELEY, Calif. -- "San Francisco loves the Hives," howled Pelle Almqvist last Sunday at the Fillmore. Their performance exhibited, among other things, their love-hate relationship with their American audience. The Hives spent their first few moments onstage asking the audience a dozen times if they were loved and appreciated. Almqvist incited the desired chants from the sold-out crowd throughout the night.
Their set lasted a brief 50 minutes and the Hives were dead set on utilizing every second. Energetic and full of life, the Swedish five started the concert with "Abra Cadaver." It became clear from the first song ...
