WGT: Bulgarians best-worst of Olympic lifters

ATHENS, Aug 19 Reuters - For years Bulgaria has represented the best and worst of Olympic
weightlifting.

A small nation with a huge passion for lifting things, Bulgaria's strong men have hoisted
34 Olympic medals, a massive haul surpassed only by the former-Soviet Union (62), the
United States (41) and Germany-GDR (37).

The high-performance muscle cars of the weightlifting world, Bulgarian lifters are
as sought after as prize race horses -- and nearly as costly.
