Striker Andriy Shevchenko netted three beautiful goals as AC Milan defeated Lazio 3-0 Saturday to clinch a record fifth Italian SuperCup title.

"Sheva," the top league scorer last season, opened the scoring in the 35th minute with a flying left shot from 12 meters (yards) on a perfect assist by midfielder Massimo Ambrosini.

The Ukrainian forward gave an encore eight minutes later, with a powerful header off a cross from captain Paolo Maldini and sealed AC Milan's victory in the 76th with a right volley from the penalty area edge off a rebound.

Shevchenko has scored 94 goals since joining AC Milan in 1999.
