(The Daily Aztec) (U-WIRE) SAN DIEGO -- A man in his 50s has tested positive for West Nile virus, becoming the first case of the viral disease in San Diego County.

According to an article in The San Diego Union-Tribune, Deputy County Health Officer Wilma Wooten said he was admitted to a hospital last Tuesday.

According to the Web site for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, www.cdc.gov, 361 cases of West Nile virus have been reported to the CDC in 2004.
