May He Rest in Peace! My recollection of having had the privilege of being
in the presence of our beloved President Ronald Reagan dates back to
September 15, 1984. It was a memorable occasion. President Ronald Reagan
was the honored guest at the National Italian American Foundation award
dinner in the Washington-Hilton. Present on the dais were President Ronald
Reagan and the other presidential candidates-George Bush, Walter Mondale
and Geraldine Ferrara. This was the first time both Republicans and
Democrats attended such an occasion before an election.
