HOUSTON - A 57-year-old woman from northeast Texas is recovering at
Methodist Hospital in Houston after undergoing the state's first
heart/liver double organ transplant last Tuesday.

Linda Lane, wife and mother of two, is in good condition after undergoing
the nine-hour double organ transplant the week before. She is still in the
ICU, but off the breathing machine and expected to move into a room soon.

Lane, from Lovelady, suffered from ischemic cardiomyopathy, (heart disease
caused by heart attack or blockage of the arteries), after having a heart
attack in 1997 and bypass surgery in 2002.
