Scientists aren't sure why, but cases of asthma have been increasing in recent years. Scientists do know that the rates are highest in inner-city neighborhoods where it's common to find asthma in 20 to 25 percent of children. Drugs can help keep their symptoms under control, but now doctors think they've found another way to keep those children healthy: by changing the places where they live. NPR's Joseph Shapiro reports.
