Crik: Father figure Lambert watches over oldies

LONDON, Sept 11 AAP - Clayton Lambert calls himself the father figure of the United
States cricket team.

Which makes him quite a senior, considering the average age of the team is 35.

At 42, Lambert revived his hard hitting career this year to nurse the US team along
after playing five eventful Tests and 11 one-dayers for the West Indies between 1991 and
1998.

The old-fashioned leg side slugger, who scored 104 against England in a Test in Antigua
in 1997-98, is the only member of a US team full of West Indian and Pakistani immigrants
with international first class experience.
