RWS hires New York man to be new general manager

Regional Waste Systems board of directors voted unanimously Thursday to hire a New York man to run its trash-burning plant, which is operated by 21 southern Maine communities.

The board chose Kevin Roche of Binghamton, N.Y., from more than 60 applicants. He will replace Charles Foshay, who retired from the general manager's job a year ago. Foshay had run the waste-to- energy plant since it opened in 1988.
