Fed: Senate in danger of becoming Howard's rubber stamp: Greens
SYDNEY, Sept 26 AAP - Preference flows and a new relationship with the religious right
were pplacing the Senate in danger of becoming Prime Minister John Howard's rubber stamp,
the Australian Greens said today.
Greens leader Bob Brown said Mr Howard only needed to get one or two extra spots in
the Senate to have total control and this could be achieved by electing candidates standing
on a religious ticket.
"The real concern here is John Howard's new relationship with the religious right,
which is aiming to get him the extra one or two seats in the Senate he needs to have total
