SONGS of praise will meet songs of raves next month when happy hardcore replaces traditional organ music in Edinburgh's St Giles' Cathedral.

Tunes from the high-tempo dance music genre - more usually associated with warehouse parties of the 1990s - have been transcribed for the church organ as part of an ongoing project by award-winning British artist Matt Stokes. Reworking tracks such as the Braveheart Hardcore Remix by Joining Of The Clans, the evening recital will also present new versions of several black metal tracks, a style infamous for its satanic themes and blasphemytoting followers.
