ROUND-the-clock train services between Edinburgh and Glasgow are to be one of the top priorities for the new cities connectivity chief Laura Gordon.

The 40-year-old, who was appointed director of the Glasgow- Edinburgh Collaboration Project last week, said the lack of services after 11.30pm was stifling tourism and the arts, as visitors and arts enthusiasts either cannot attend evening events or have to leave events early to avoid being stranded.

Transport is one of three strategy areas that Gordon will work on over the next two years in order to bring Glasgow and Edinburgh closer economically and culturally.
