Article: Harvard's El-Erian to Return to PIMCO

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (HedgeWorld.com) - Mohamed El-Erian announced Tuesday [Sept. 11] that he will step down as president and chief executive officer of Harvard Management Co., which manages the university's $34.9 billion endowment fund, at the end of the year to return to his former company, Pacific Investment Management Co., as co-chief executive officer and co-chief investment officer.

Mr. El-Erian, 49, was named to lead Harvard Management Company in October 2005 and began his service in February 2006.
