A series of publications appearing recently in Russian journals say that after dozens of years of searches, young archaeologists are claiming to have discovered the location of the legendary capital of the Khazar empire, Atil.

Reports on what could turn out to be a major breakthrough in the long pursuit of the remains of that Jewish kingdom were published by Regnum News Agency, the newspaper Parlamentskaya Gazeta and quoted later by Kevin Brook's khazaria.com website.
