Article: ABP cruises into a successful year

New business, record-breaking shipments, investment and a growth in cruises have laid the foundations for further success at the region's ports.

Associated British Ports' (ABP) Hull and Goole ports are looking forward to a successful 2007 after reporting a steady start to 2006.

Matthew Kennerley, ABP port director for Hull and Goole, said: "We have made a good start to 2006 and have had many important developments spanning the great width and range of our business. We have built up good momentum, which will push us forward in the second half of the year."

In March, ABP announced it is to invest pounds4.8m in new covered storage facilities at Hull's Finland Terminal.
