Article: Troops seen as 'easy prey' by iraqi terrorists

Terrorists in Iraq say British troops who patrol in poorly protected Land Rovers "make easy prey".

According to the Asia-Pacific Foundation (APF), an independent security and intelligence think-tank, sources have told staff the vehicles are hot targets.

Earlier this month, the Mail launched its Troops In Peril campaign, calling for an end to the use of Land Rovers in the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan.

APF director MJ Gohel, said: "We are in constant contact with colleagues on the ground in Iraq. Bullets would rip through Land Rovers.

"The normal rules of war do not apply in Iraq, because the threat is multi-layered, ever-evolving and changing.
