Stephen Larard, East Riding Union's senior team manager, feels
that the long process of team rebuilding is starting to pay
dividends, and he is extremely optimistic about the future.
Speaking after the curtain fell on the 2007 season with the 36-
hole Yorkshire Inter-District Union Team Championship at Shipley,
where they finished fifth - the same as their YIDU League position
this season - Larard said: "Re-shaping of the squad is making good
progress, it is all going to plan, but it is not an overnight job."
Not many good East Riding youngsters surfaced for about four years
after several quality players turned professional and brought an end
to successful era in the late 1990s and early ...
